This Lexus LX 470 was brought to Luxury Car Detailing RI for a complete detail, inside and out. With its age and use as a full-size SUV, the client requested a deep restoration to revive the paint’s shine, recondition the interior leather, and clean years of buildup from daily driving. Our process focused on safely restoring the vehicle’s luxury appearance while preserving its original materials.
Exterior Detailing Process
1. Foam Pre-Soak and Rinse
The detail began with a thick foam application to break down surface contaminants. A full rinse followed to remove loose dirt and grime from the paint, glass, and trim.
2. Two-Bucket Wash and Decontamination
Using Meguiar’s Gold Class Shampoo, we hand-washed the SUV with microfiber mitts and a grit-guard system. A clay bar treatment removed bonded contaminants, especially around lower panels and door edges.
3. Paint Correction
Due to light oxidation and swirl marks, a single-stage polish using Meguiar’s M205 was performed to revive depth and shine. The metallic finish regained clarity and reflection without compromising clear coat integrity.
4. Protection Layer
We applied Superior Products’ synthetic sealant to provide durable protection and hydrophobic properties. This helps defend against water spotting, sun damage, and environmental contaminants.
5. Wheels, Tires, and Trim
The wheels were scrubbed clean with a non-acidic wheel cleaner. Tires were conditioned with a matte finish dressing, and all trim pieces were restored with a UV-resistant protectant.
Interior Detailing Process
1. Complete Interior Vacuum
We started with a deep vacuum, removing dust, pet hair, and debris from carpet, floor mats, and under-seat areas. Air tools were used to blow out tight seams and cracks.
2. Leather Cleaning and Conditioning
The beige leather interior was cleaned with a dedicated pH-balanced leather cleaner. We followed with a leather conditioner to restore softness, reduce drying, and bring back even color and sheen.
3. Vinyl and Plastic Care
Interior panels, dashboard, and console were cleaned and dressed with a low-gloss, anti-static finish to reduce UV fading and repel dust.
4. Carpet Extraction
The carpets and mats were shampooed using hot water extraction, removing ground-in dirt and refreshing their appearance.
5. Final Interior Finishing
Interior glass was cleaned to a streak-free finish. Cupholders, vents, buttons, and storage compartments were hand-detailed and sanitized.
