At Luxury Car Detailing, we specialize in restoring and protecting some of the finest vehicles in Rhode Island and beyond. This recent project involved a Porsche Panamera—a performance-driven luxury sedan that had lost its original gloss due to years of wear, swirl marks, and improper washing techniques. The owner wanted the car to look better than new while ensuring it stayed protected for years to come.
This was the perfect candidate for our 4-stage paint correction service paired with the System X Max G ceramic coating, one of the most advanced ceramic coatings on the market. The end result was a deep, mirror-like gloss and a level of protection that will keep the Porsche shining for years.
When the Porsche arrived at our Rhode Island detailing location, it was clear that the finish needed significant correction. Under proper lighting, we noticed:
Black vehicles, while stunning when properly maintained, are notorious for showing every imperfection. The goal here was to perform a complete surface restoration before locking in the finish with a high-performance ceramic coating.
Before we could begin the paint correction process, we needed to remove all surface contamination. We started with:
At this point, the surface was completely clean and ready for machine polishing.
The heart of this transformation was our 4-stage paint correction, a multi-step polishing process designed to remove imperfections and restore the paint to a flawless finish. Each stage used progressively finer abrasives and pads to refine the surface.
We started with a rotary polisher and a heavy-cut compound to tackle deep swirl marks and scratches. This aggressive stage removed the most severe defects but left behind a slightly hazy surface that would be refined in later stages.
Using a dual-action polisher with a medium-cut polish, we removed haze from the first stage and further improved clarity. This step eliminated most of the remaining light scratches and oxidation.
A softer pad and finishing polish were used to enhance depth and bring out the deep, rich black color. At this point, the surface was already showing incredible gloss.
For the final stage, we used an ultra-fine finishing polish to produce a true mirror-like reflection. This step also prepped the surface for the ceramic coating by ensuring maximum clarity and smoothness.
After completion, we achieved over 95% defect removal—a near-perfect finish.
With the paint perfected, we moved on to applying the System X Max G ceramic coating. This premium-grade coating offers up to 7 years of protection and is known for its extreme durability and gloss.
We applied the coating to:
After applying the coating, we allowed proper curing time to ensure maximum bonding to the surface.
To complete the job, we performed a series of finishing touches:
The transformation was nothing short of remarkable:

No, but it makes washing easier and reduces the risk of scratching. Dirt and water have a harder time sticking to the coated surface.
