Challenges

Black vehicles are notorious for showing every swirl mark, imperfection, and dust particle. Given the Cayenne’s age and hybrid system (which adds complexity to the cleaning and prep stages), this job required meticulous surface correction before we could apply any coating.

Our Process

1. Deep Decontamination Wash

We started with a two-bucket wash method, using a pH-neutral shampoo and iron remover to eliminate embedded contaminants safely.

2. Paint Correction

Next, we conducted a multi-stage paint correction to remove swirl marks, light scratches, and oxidation. This step is critical for black paint to ensure a mirror-like finish once the ceramic coating is applied.

3. Panel Wipe and Surface Prep

We used a high-quality panel prep solution to strip oils and residues, ensuring the surface was perfectly clean and ready for the coating.

4. 9-Year Ceramic Coating Application

Using Adam’s Polishes 9-Year Ceramic Coating, we applied the coating evenly to all exterior paintwork, including the front grille, rear hatch, and door jams. This product offers industry-leading durability, water-beading, and chemical resistance.

5. Final Touches

We finished by dressing the tires, cleaning the glass, and inspecting the vehicle under multiple light sources to ensure perfection.

Results

The transformation was incredible. The Porsche’s black paint now has a deep, reflective gloss with hydrophobic properties that repel water, dirt, and contaminants. Kent was thrilled with the outcome and appreciated the peace of mind that comes with 9 years of protection.
