Be Honest with Your Detailer: Why Accurate Descriptions Matter

Don’t Lie to Your Detailer—It Won’t Help You

One of the biggest challenges in mobile detailing is pricing accurately over the phone or online. And the truth is, many clients are not honest about the condition of their vehicles. Whether it’s to save money or because they don’t realize how dirty their car really is, downplaying the severity doesn't help either side.

When we ask you, "How bad is it inside?" and you respond with "not that bad" — only for us to arrive and find pet hair, sand, kid messes, spills, and deep grime — you’re not just making the job harder. You’re setting yourself up for a price increase.

Let’s be clear:

  • Saying it's "not bad" when it's covered in dog hair doesn't lower the price.
  • Saying "just needs a wipe-down" when the seats are stained doesn’t change the work involved.
  • It will cost more. Period.

Being honest from the start lets us quote you fairly and saves everyone time and frustration.

Why There Are Multiple Packages Online

We don’t set one universal price for a reason. Not every car is the same. That’s why we created three different interior detailing packages. These are designed to make it easier for customers to choose the right level of service based on:

  • Pet hair
  • Sand
  • Stains and spills
  • General clutter and mess

If you have these things in your car and still choose the basic interior package, you are underquoting yourself on purpose. And when we show up and realize you selected the wrong service, we will adjust the price accordingly.

Don’t act surprised. You saw the package list. It’s not there just for show.

Pricing Should Be Fair—But Realistic

We understand that detailing can be expensive. That’s why we don’t believe in charging $300+ for a basic wipe-down, vacuum, and exterior wash.

A job like that doesn’t take more than an hour or so for a normal vehicle. Charging over $120 for that is excessive, and we don’t do that. But what we do expect is:

  • Respect for the work involved when a car is extremely dirty
  • Accurate communication about what needs to be done
  • Willingness to pay fairly for the actual time and labor needed

We’re not here to rip people off. We’re here to clean cars the right way and charge for the actual work, not just the time on paper.

Final Thoughts

If you're booking online, look at the service descriptions carefully. If you're booking over the phone, be honest. We’re not going to judge you for having a messy car — it happens. But lying about it only creates problems.

  • If your car is bad, say it.
  • If you have dogs and sand, mention it.
  • If there are stains or spills, let us know.

We’re here to help. But if you want an accurate quote and a smooth appointment, transparency matters more than anything else.
